Job Posting Title: Entry Level Legal Assistant
Job Description
The Legal Assistant - Collateral Specialist position will provide our new hire with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day bustle of a prestigious legal group's Collateral Services Department. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong desire to progress within our organization. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create, audit, and ship collateral files
  • Execute, save, and upload bailee letters into the client system to confirm receipt of collateral files
  • Ensure the safekeeping and secure storage of original documents
  • Sending collateral files to successor counsel, co-counsel, or to the client upon the resolution of the foreclosure action
  • Stack, scan, and image original collateral loan documents
  • Upload scanned images into the system of record
  • Create collateral packages verifying all necessary documents are present
  • Audit collateral packages confirming signatures are present and loan-level data is accurate
  • Update system of record with key information (i.e. dates, tracking numbers, notations, etc.)
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by department leadership

Required Qualifications
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and efficiency

Education: โ€ข Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred โ€ข High school or equivalent required
Physical Functions: Employee must be able to physically file collateral documents in the Firm Vault, as well as pull the collateral documents from the vault. Some walking and standing relative to processing collateral documents and filing collateral documents may be required. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, operate a computer, be detail oriented, regularly listen, learn new training material, and be adaptable to changing workflows.
Work environment: Works in the Firm Vault which a secure workspace that is badge restricted access limited to employees of the department. The open workspace contains desks in a well-lighted, air-conditioned office, with moderate noise levels. This a team oriented department which encourages helping fellow team members to success.
