We are seeking a highly collaborative Manager of AI Engineering & Generative AI Development to build, lead, and mentor a team of AI Engineers.  As a leading financial services organization, we have leveraged artificial intelligence methods for several years (mainly machine learning) and over the last two years have been accelerating our broad adoption of GenAI to transform our business and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

As a Manager of AI Engineering & Generative AI Development, you will guide the development, engineering, and deployment of Generative AI and incorporate advanced machine learning solutions. You will be a crucial bridge between highly technical engineering teams and our internal business partners as well as our technology and cyber security teams, ensuring our AI initiatives are secure, scalable, and impactful.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development:Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of AI engineers and developers. Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team culture.
  • GenAI & AI Engineering Delivery:Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI and GenAI application development, ensuring technical excellence, robust architecture, and alignment with financial services security and compliance standards.
  • Inter Team Collaboration:Work closely and frequently with two peer AI leaders as a key part of development of our AI agents.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership:Partner closely with Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and internal Business Leaders to integrate AI solutions into our broader technology ecosystem and drive tangible business outcomes.
  • Technical Guidance:Provide architectural and technical direction for the team, staying current with the rapidly evolving GenAI landscape, frameworks, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a heavily related technology discipline.
  • A robust, proven background (8+ years) in software engineering, technology architecture, and systems development.
  • 3+ years of experience with data science and AI (Machine Learning and/or Generative AI)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong teams, break down silos, and collaborate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Python, SQL, experience with containers, experience with code repositories such as GitHub, familiarity with GenAI frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership, management, or team-lead capacity is highly preferred
  • Hands-on development and/or direct leadership experience specifically focused on AI engineering, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Generative AI orchestration is preferred
  • Prior experience delivering technology solutions within the highly regulated financial services sector is preferred

This position is fully in office (5 days a week) at the Zions Technology Center - 7860 South Bingham Junction Blvd, Midvale, UT 84047
