Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, analytical, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located remotely in your geographic location or in our Rochester Hills, MI office, we are seeking a Global CVT Business Development Manager for Powersports and Scooters, you will take charge of overseeing and driving the strategic direction for the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) business across multiple global markets. This role requires a dynamic leader who can work closely with key internal teams-including Product Development, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Gates AR teams-while also engaging directly with global Business Development teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global CVT Strategy Development: Lead the creation and execution of the global CVT strategy for both Original Equipment (OE) / Original Equipment Service (OES) and Aftermarket Replacement (AR) channels, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market demands.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Development and PLM teams to coordinate market trends, customer needs, and go-to-market strategies, ensuring seamless alignment with global testing, production, and supply chain activities.
  • Global Business Management: Manage and refine the global strategy for the CVT business, with a specific focus on expanding and strengthening relationships with large, international CVT customers.
  • Support for Global Race Teams & Sponsorships: Provide support for global race teams and sponsorships specifically tailored to the CVT product line, fostering brand visibility and product performance in high-profile environments.
  • Market Intelligence & Coordination: Monitor and analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscapes across various regions to proactively identify business opportunities, market needs, and areas for growth.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and grow relationships with global customers, working to understand their needs and ensuring that product offerings are aligned with customer expectations.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology or Business (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with at least 5 years business development.
  • Proven experience in business management, particularly in overseeing global product portfolios and customer relationships within the Powersports or Scooters industry.
  • Strong background in CVT technology or automotive parts, ideally in both OE/OES and AR markets.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to manage cross-functional teams, drive collaboration, and influence key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with senior leadership, global teams, and customers.
  • Experience in managing global strategies, especially in large, diverse international markets.
  • Highly organized with a strategic and data-driven approach.
  • Adaptable and proactive in addressing global business challenges.
  • Collaborative team player, able to influence and drive action at all levels of the organization.
  • Travel up to 40% both domestic and international.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000
  • Sales Incentive Plan Eligible

  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
