Mortgage Manager

Location: Tulsa, OK

About the Role

The Mortgage Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end mortgage lending process, ensuring loans are processed efficiently, comply with regulatory requirements, and align with organizational standards. This role leads a team of Mortgage Lenders and Processors while managing complex loan scenarios and high-level member relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the mortgage department and assigned teams.

  • Lead, coach, and develop Mortgage Lenders and Processing staff to achieve performance goals.

  • Review and approve mortgage loan applications within delegated authority.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company lending regulations, including underwriting standards.

  • Monitor loan pipeline, productivity, and key performance metrics.

  • Resolve escalated client issues and manage complex loan situations.

  • Build and maintain relationships with real estate agents, brokers, and strategic partners.

  • Analyze financial data, credit reports, and risk factors to support sound lending decisions.

  • Collaborate with Mortgage Sales, Underwriting, and Learning & Development teams to manage training programs and documentation.

  • Ensure adherence to all NCUA laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies to mitigate risk and uphold ethical standards.

  • Prepare and present performance reports and trend analysis to senior management.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage lending or banking.

  • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.

  • Strong knowledge of underwriting guidelines and loan products, including FHA, VA, and Conventional loans.

  • Solid understanding of lending laws, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
