Job description

Viyu Network Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Jr. Sales Engineer to join our growing organization. This role is responsible for engaging with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, designing tailored technology solutions, and supporting the sales team throughout the full lifecycle of the opportunity.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and strong communicator who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This individual will collaborate closely with Account Executives, inside sales, and distribution partners to develop comprehensive solutions, including build of materials (BOM), scoped services, and associated project labor. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of modern IT environments and the ability to position and articulate value-driven solutions to customers, a true technologist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to customers and internal teams in the design and delivery of technology solutions for both new and existing clients
  • Partner with Account Executives and inside sales to identify customer challenges, define requirements, and develop comprehensive, solution-based proposals
  • Design and architect solutions across infrastructure, networking, cloud, cybersecurity, and third-party applications to meet customer needs
  • Collaborate with distribution partners and internal stakeholders to develop accurate build of materials (BOM), pricing, and project labor estimates
  • Lead pre-sales technical engagements, including discovery sessions, solution design, product demonstrations, and technical presentations to both technical and executive audiences
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by aligning technology solutions with business objectives and long-term strategy
  • Drive technical validation of opportunities, including qualification of customer requirements, competitive positioning, decision processes, and funding considerations
  • Support pipeline development and contribute to successful deal closure by effectively communicating solution value and differentiation
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client environments, proposed solutions, and sales activities within internal systems
  • Act as an internal technical resource and subject matter expert across key solution areas

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a technical role or comparable SE role within the technology industry
  • Strong working knowledge across core IT domains, including:
    • Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless)
    • Systems and infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualization)
    • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365)
    • Cybersecurity solutions and best practices
    • Third-party and SaaS-based business applications
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer environments, identify gaps or challenges, and design effective, scalable solutions
  • Experience in Channel Sales or MSP environment is a preferred
  • Experience developing build of materials (BOM), scopes of work (SOW), and associated services/labor estimates
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Education

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
