Position:     Business Development Manager

Location:   New York, NY (Fully In-Office Midtown)

Salary:        $160K-$170K + Bonus

 

 

Growing Law Firm seeks new Business Development Manager to join their team!

 

Responsibilities:




  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute business plans (SPI Plans) for individual attorneys, practice groups, and industry groups that align with Firm goals.
  • Attorney Coaching: Meet regularly with attorneys to advise and assist in the execution of business plans. Advise partners on business development best practices, helping them build their personal brands and professional networks.
  • Pitching, Referrer & Client Relationship Management: Identify opportunities to expand existing referrer and client relationships and drive cross-selling initiatives.
  • Market Intelligence & Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and news to identify new referrer and client leads and market opportunities.
  • Marketing & Thought Leadership: Collaborate with the marketing team to drive brand awareness through events, webinars, directory submissions (e.g., Chambers), and client alerts.
  • Lateral Integration: Support the integration of new lateral attorneys by developing targeted referrer and client plans.
  • Budget Management: Manage business development budgets and evaluate the return on investment (ROI) for marketing and business development initiatives.
  • RFP Response: Lead the creation of proposals, pitches, and presentations that showcase attorney and Firm capabilities.


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline required, Master’s degree a plus.
  • Five to ten years’ experience in Marketing, specifically in the Legal Industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal industry marketing standards.
  • Proficient with content management software (DNN a plus).
  • Skilled at contact management software (Interaction+ a plus).
  • Strong references.Proficient in MS Office Suite: Outlook / Word / Excel / PowerPoint.
  • Digital organization & maintenance a must.
  • Good communication skills with attorneys, professional staff and various other stakeholders.Â
