Job description

MGS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our MGS Germantown team. 

The Business Development Manager will learn our business, offerings, and value propositions to identify and develop strategic business relationships with new and existing customers.  Under the mentorship and guidance of a Director of Business Development, within year two is expected to begin establishing and building their pipeline and will be engaging with existing customers and a few prospects.  By year three is expected that they will begin winning new business.    

  • Research prospects and current customers to help pursue leads for new customers and prospects
  • Maintain relationships with established customers as directed by the Sales Management team
  • Prepare and present sales presentations that effectively demonstrate the value proposition of MGS
  • Work closely with the Sales Management team and participate in sales meetings
  • Work closely with Estimating to review estimates; send estimates to customers
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs at the plant level
  • Work with marketing staff to handle customer RFI and survey forms
  • Use Concur software to track and record expenses
  • Use CRM software to track and record activity on customer accounts
  • Flexibility to work at events or conferences to promote MGS and our values to new customers
  • Keeping up with the latest industry developments including market positioning of competitors
  • Any other duties as assigned.

A qualified Business Development Manager would fulfill these requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university is preferred
  • 3-5 years of entry level sales, marketing or related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and colleagues and everyone you work with. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, will be required for customer visits, entertainment, and industry events (up to 25%).
