The HR Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting a dynamic Human Resources team within a healthcare environment where people, purpose, and patient care come first. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful HR initiatives that directly support caregivers and the communities they serve. The intern will play a key role in maintaining accurate HR data, enhancing job documentation, and supporting compliance-driven projects that help ensure a high-performing, patient-centered workforce.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partner with HR team members and organizational leaders to update and enhance job descriptions, ensuring alignment with clinical, operational, and regulatory standards
  • Support HR compliance initiatives through accurate data entry, audits, and maintenance within the HRIS
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining employee records in accordance with healthcare compliance and confidentiality requirements
  • Contribute to HR projects focused on process improvement, documentation, and policy updates that support a growing healthcare organization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support departmental and organizational initiatives
  • Provide administrative support, including document preparation, file management, and coordination of HR materials
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines and InterMed policies.
  • Perform other duties to support the mission, vision and values of InterMed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Education:
    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Strong interest in Human Resources within a healthcare or patient-centered environment
    • Previous internship, administrative, or customer service experience preferred but not required
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS systems is a plus
    • High level of attention to detail, organization, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
    • Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with a variety of teams and stakeholders
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
