Description:

Our client is seeking a temporary HR Generalist to cover a maternity leave to support key HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and HR operations. This role serves as a trusted resource to both employees and managers, ensuring a positive employee experience and the consistent application of HR policies and best practices. The HR Generalist provides professional-level support to the HR leadership team and partners closely with departments across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage job postings, applicant tracking, and interview coordination.
  • Partner with hiring managers to support recruitment strategies and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and ensure onboarding documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate background checks, reference verifications, and pre-employment requirements.

Employee Relations & HR Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, policies, and HR procedures.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, documentation, and internal investigations as needed.
  • Support internal engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications.
  • Assist with company events and employee appreciation activities.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Process benefits-related documentation with payroll and insurance providers to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits statements and assist employees with claims or coverage issues.
  • Support annual open enrollment communications and compliance reporting.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate standard HR reports.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, including I-9 verification and EEO reporting.
  • Support the annual performance review process and employee file audits.
  • Assist with compensation reviews and job description updates.
  • Manage HR records, documentation, and file retention procedures.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate on HR process improvements and system enhancement initiatives.
  • Support HR analytics, employee surveys, and training programs.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance talent and culture initiatives.
  • Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 3โ€“5 years of progressively responsible HR experience preferred, with a focus on recruiting, HRIS, and benefits administration.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, principles, and employment regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
