Food safety managers work in food processing plants, schools, hospitals, and other large-scale food operations.

What does a Food Safety Manager do?

A Food Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that all food served or produced by an organization meets safety standards and complies with regulations. They develop, implement, and monitor food safety protocols, conduct inspections, and train staff on safe food handling practices. Their primary goal is to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure that the food supply is safe for consumers. Food Safety Managers often work closely with health departments and regulatory agencies to stay updated on the latest safety guidelines.

What are the biggest challenges Food Safety Managers face when implementing new safety protocols, and how can they be addressed?

Food Safety Managers often encounter resistance to change from staff when introducing new safety protocols, as well as the challenge of ensuring consistent compliance across shifts and locations.
