Job description

The role:

We are looking for an energetic Food Safety Manager with experience in ready-to-eat meal production environments. The Food Safety Manager plays a key role in our kitchens, responsible for monitoring and verifying that food production adheres to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in regulatory inspection readiness, processes, and corrective actions
  • Monitor critical limits with daily checks of refrigeration, sanitation chemicals, dish machine operation, etc.
  • Enforce FDA, USDA, and local regulatory frameworks. Conduct daily facility walks and health department readiness checks to document findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Review and verify records for cook-chill processes
  • Assist in developing and implementing food safety programs, including Chef audits, internal assessments, and training materials.
  • Train GMPs, sanitation, and safe food handling to employees and Chef teams
  • Promote a food safety culture within the organization
  • Identify and assess potential food safety risks in the production process
  • Develop and execute annual food safety training plans. Educate quality control teams, fulfillment staff, and partnered chefs on sanitation protocols.
  • Monitor and inspect food production, handling, and storage areas for compliance with food safety standards as per applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Identify potential deviations from safety standards, investigate complaints, and execute proactive risk-mitigation plans.
  • Partner with Culinary Operations, Supply Chain, and Sanitation teams to integrate food safety at every stage of production and new product development
  • Assist with environmental monitoring and shelf life testing.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or equivalent experience in a high compliance environment
  • Certifications such as HACCP, PCQI, or Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM).
  • Proven experience in food safety, quality control, or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety
Preferred requirements:
  • Fluent in Spanish
