Opportunity Statement
We are seeking a Food Safety Manager to develop, implement, and maintain the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) across all Grub Market DBAs. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and certification standards, provides leadership across fresh-cut processing and fresh food distribution operations, and drives a culture of food safety and quality.

Role Responsibilities
The Food Safety Manager is expected to oversee food safety programs, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the FSMS in compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, and GFSI schemes such as SQF or PrimusGFS across all DBAs.
  • Oversee HACCP programs, Preventive Controls, and other regulatory requirements across all DBAs.
  • Lead creation, implementation, and maintenance of SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs, and the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Ensure certification and audit readiness at all times.
  • Review the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), including sampling, testing, trending, and corrective actions when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support regulatory inspections, customer requirements, and audits.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections; ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Train and coach employees at all levels on GMPs, food safety policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct ongoing training on sanitation, allergens, traceability, and regulatory updates.
  • Promote and sustain a strong food safety and quality culture across all DBAs.
  • Lead investigations of non-conformances, customer complaints, and contamination events.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
  • Ensure DBAs have programs to manage recall and traceability exercises in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Analyze data from CCPs, preventive controls, EMP, and quality checks to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with DBAsโ€™ Food Safety teams to integrate food safety into daily operations.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, SQF, PrimusGFS, GMPs, and food safety best practices.
  • Minimum 3โ€“5 years of experience in food safety.
  • Experience managing Environmental Monitoring Programs and sanitation systems.
  • Strong leadership and training skills; able to build and maintain a food safety culture.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record in regulatory compliance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with food safety documentation software preferred.
  • Experience in fresh-cut or fresh food distribution.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
