About the Opportunity:
A well-established international freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Entry Writer to join its growing Customs Brokerage team in New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career with a stable, reputable company that values compliance, teamwork, and professional development.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and file customs entries for import shipments in compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGA) regulations.
  • Classify merchandise using HTS codes; verify valuation, country of origin, and duty calculations.
  • Communicate with importers, carriers, and agencies to resolve holds, exams, or documentation issues.
  • Maintain complete and compliant entry documentation and audit records.
  • Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure on-time shipment release and delivery.

Qualifications:
  • 1-3+ years of customs entry writing or import operations experience within a freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment.
  • Working knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and PGA filings (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.).
  • Experience using systems such as CargoWise, AS400, or similar.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and written/verbal communication.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or pursuing the license is a plus.
