Service Shipping Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented Import Entry Writer to join our team in Schaumburg, IL. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in international trade operations, ensuring seamless customs clearance and compliance for our clients. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit accurate import entry filings with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
  • Classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) to determine correct duty rates
  • Review commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and other shipping documents for accuracy
  • Communicate with importers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to resolve entry discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with all import regulations, trade agreements, and CBP requirements
  • Monitor shipment statuses and coordinate timely customs clearance to avoid delays or penalties
  • Maintain organized records of import entries and supporting documentation for audit purposes
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in import entry writing, customs brokerage, or freight forwarding
  • Working knowledge of HTS classification, CBP regulations, and import compliance
  • Familiarity with Automated Broker Interface (ABI) or customs entry software
