Job Title: QC Administrator

Job Grade: 15

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: QC Manager

Appraisal Type: Employee

Job Purpose: The Quality Control Administrator is responsible for ensuring the ASME Quality Control Department products and processes meet specifications and assisting the QC Manager in his duties.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  1. Assists in the following:
  2. Receive material into inventory based on purchase order requirements
  3. Measure parts and components using micrometer, tape measure and caliper
  4. Review and sign Material Receiving Reports for tank heads and verify heads meet required specifications
  5. Manages ASME QC system documentation including completing the National Board U1 reports. 
  6. Review drawings, write, print, and place all ASME documents in the job traveler file packet and deliver to Production Manager for review and fabrication. 
  7. Review all ASME documents in the job file after fabrication, for completion and accuracy (Heat #s etc.) and assist in compiling of job books per customer request.
  8. Create weld maps for ASME B31.3 Pipe welding. 
  9. Ensures ASME code compliance, reviews all WPQ documents. 
  10. Assists QMS manager in keeping all equipment continuity and calibration logs current. 
  11. Assists in documentation of all welding procedures and work with CWI and QC Technicians to ensure welder qualification.
  12. Write documentation for hydrotesting and air testing of ASME Vessels. 
  13. Performs air testing and Hydro testing of tanks, skids, and pressure vessels. 
  14. Assists in in-process quality audits and new program inspections. 
  15. Schedules all NDE visits for ASME Code work and supply purchase order worksheets.
  16. Responsible for ASME audit and pre-audit reviews
  17. Responsible for stamping and installation of ASME Vessel serial # tags. 
  18. Works with department personnel to develop and record new procedures and work instructions. 
  19. Performs in-process weld inspections to the required code or standard. 
  20. Performs additional duties as needed.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Quality Control, ASME Section VIII Div. 1, and ASME Section IX experience preferred with API Q1/ISO 9001 experience a plus.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as charts, procedure manuals and job instructions withbasic problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  6. Ability to accurately read and record measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools, as well as read a tape-measure.
  7. Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced work environment.
  8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  9. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  10. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  11. Ability to operate computer and computer software, to include Microsoft Office products.
  12. Ability to use department equipment.
  13. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
