The Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for ensuring that all construction projects adhere to company standards and regulatory quality requirements. This role involves the development and implementation of quality control procedures, regular inspections, and rigorous compliance checks with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. The QC Manager collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to proactively identify and prevent defects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction outcomes.


What Youll Do
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs).
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
  • Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications.
  • Identify and document quality deficiencies and non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate QC documentation, including daily reports, inspection checklists, and test results.
  • Coordinate and lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections with project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to communicate and enforce quality expectations.
  • Train and mentor field personnel on quality control procedures and standards.
  • Participate in project kickoff and progress meetings to provide quality oversight and recommendations.
  • Prepare and present quality reports for senior management and clients.
  • May provide leadership and oversight to assigned QAQC team members to ensure consistent implementation of quality assurance processes across all projects.
  • Travel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.
  • Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring
  • Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field AND 10+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience directly or indirectly supervising staff with increasing responsibility.
  • USACE CQM Certification required.
  • OSHA-30 certification required.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction materials, methods, and QA/QC implementation strategies.
  • Deep understanding of ISO 9001, USACE QA/QC, ASTM, ACI, and other quality management systems and compliance frameworks.
  • Skilled in overseeing and integrating construction quality processes across multiple teams or projects.
  • Expertise in analyzing quality data and trends to identify systemic issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Strong planning, facilitation, and organizational skills to manage QA/QC workflows and personnel.
  • Proficient in using construction management platforms (i.e., ProjectSight, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, RMS) to lead quality planning, inspection scheduling, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead and support QAQC team members.
  • Ability to coach teams on quality standards and foster a proactive quality culture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex quality data to both field teams and executive leadership.
  • Manages emotions under pressure and helps resolve conflicts through clear, respectful communication.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
  • Exposure to all outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
  • Use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Exposure to confined spaces as part of job site conditions.
  • Exposure to high noise levels typical of job sites.

Travel
  • Ability to travel as required for business purposes throughout the United States.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record.
