Document Control Specialist (Manufacturing)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist for a Direct Hire opportunity in Florham Park, NJ. This role is critical for managing technical documentation and ensuring data integrity across engineering and manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering teams and production by maintaining accurate records and streamlined workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document Release & Management: Release engineering documents and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within D365 and PDM Vault, ensuring adherence to manufacturability standards.
  • Version Control: Manage Revision Control for drawings, instructions, manuals, SOPs, and 3D models to prevent versioning conflicts.
  • CAD Library Maintenance: Organize and maintain the CAD library for SolidWorks-Electrical, Tube and Routing components, and SolidWorks Toolbox.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Check all documentation for completeness and compliance with industry regulations. Prepare reports and audits to identify inconsistencies and track KPIs.
  • Process Improvement: Capture documentation issues for root cause analysis and collaborate with IT and Manufacturing to streamline workflows.
  • Training & Support: Educate team members on document control procedures and assist with onboarding for new systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2–4 years in document control or engineering support, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with PDM Vault, D365, and SolidWorks (including Electrical and Routing libraries).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering change processes and complex BOM structures.
  • Core Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently while effectively communicating across various departments.
