This is a seconded position, meaning the selected candidate will be employed by ITAC but work full-time on assignment with one of our clients. While day-to-day responsibilities will be managed on-site with the client, ITAC provides ongoing support, resources, and benefits as your employer. Overview

We are seeking a Document Control Lead to support a Client’s portfolio of capital projects within an active manufacturing environment.. This role will be responsible for overseeing the document control process for capital and operational projects within an active manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience managing project documentation, establishing document control procedures, coordinating with project teams and contractors, and ensuring all project records are accurate, current, and maintained in accordance with company and client requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all document control activities for factory transformation and capital improvement projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain document control procedures, standards, and workflows
  • Ensure project documentation is properly received, reviewed, distributed, tracked, stored, and archived.
  • Manage document control systems and maintain accurate records of engineering documents, drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and project correspondence.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely processing of project documentation
  • Monitor document revision control and ensure the latest approved versions are available to project teams.
  • Track document deliverables and maintain document registers to support project milestones and reporting requirements.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure documentation meets project, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Generate document control reports and provide status updates to project teams and leadership.
  • Support audits, inspections, and project closeout activities by ensuring complete and accurate project records
  • Train project personnel on document control processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve document management processes and overall project efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field along with 5 years of relevant document control experience in a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or construction environment, OR at least 10 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Relevant experience supporting capital projects, manufacturing projects, or industrial facility improvement initiatives.
  • Experience developing and managing document control systems, procedures, and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of document management principles, revision control, records management, and project documentation requirements.
  • Experience coordinating document deliverables among multiple project stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong industrial manufacturing or heavy industrial project background.
  • Experience supporting factory transformation, plant expansion, equipment installation, or facility modernization projects.
  • Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS) such as SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, OpenText, Aconex, Procore, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing management, technical documentation, and project turnover packages.
  • Knowledge of project controls, quality management systems, and project lifecycle documentation requirements.
  • Experience leading document control teams and coordinating activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and operations functions.
