The Deduction Analyst is responsible for investigating, analyzing, and resolving customer deductions, including chargebacks, returns, promotional allowances, and payment discrepancies. This role partners closely with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Fulfillment, and external customers to ensure deductions are accurately documented and resolved in a timely manner. The Deduction Analyst will also identify trends, support customer compliance, and recommend process improvements that help reduce future deductions and strengthen overall accounts receivable accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve customer deductions, including chargebacks, returns, promotional allowances, and other payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of deductions, root causes, supporting information, and resolution activities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Fulfillment teams, as well as external customers, to research and resolve deduction disputes.
  • Generate and analyze deduction reports to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to reduce future deductions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase the efficiency and accuracy of deduction management and resolution.
  • Support the onboarding of new vendors and fulfillment partners by developing and maintaining SOPs, compliance requirements, and other resources that promote mutual success.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable records to ensure deductions are accurately recorded, supported, and matched against customer payments.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in deductions, accounts receivable, customer accounting, finance, or a related function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Experience reconciling customer accounts, payments, deductions, or related financial transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across multiple internal teams and external customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deductions, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working within a consumer goods, retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.
  • Experience managing customer chargebacks, promotional deductions, returns, or compliance-related deductions.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills with experience analyzing deduction trends and financial data.
  • Experience working with ERP, accounts receivable, or deduction management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Experience supporting vendor/customer compliance programs or onboarding new fulfillment partners.
