Job description

The Oklahoma Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking a detail-oriented Database Assistant to help maintain and support our conference database across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organizing information, solving problems, and helping others work more efficiently with technology. The Database Assistant plays a key role in maintaining accurate records for clergy, churches, and conference activities while providing helpful support to district administrators. The Database Assistant reports to the Director of Database Management and IT.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and update database records for clergy, churches, and local church officers
  • Review Annual Conference registrations and compare them to database records, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Perform database searches and generate reports in spreadsheet format as requested
  • Update church metrics using submitted statistical data
  • Provide registration support during the Annual Conference
  • Assist District Administrators with database related needs and information requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Previous experience managing an executive schedule and providing customer service required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain a courteous, patient, and helpful attitude when assisting non-technical users
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and data entry

Work Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required
