**This role operates on a hybrid model, with a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration at our Solihull location, specifically, working in-office a minimum of 3 days per week.**

Impact You Will Make in the Role:
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, proceduresย 
    and definitions for data elements and tables in the company.
  • ย Identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications byย 
    working collaboratively with other teams.
  • Optimize database performance and efficiency by evaluating and recommending newย 
    database technologies.
  • Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues andย 
    troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.
  • Execute regular database maintenance tasks, including database defragmentation,ย 
    backups, and database replication.
  • Design, install, configure and maintain database systems, including monitoring,ย 
    patching, tuning and troubleshooting issues.
  • Provide a seamless flow of information by keeping the database running smoothly.
  • Ensure data security and integrity, including implementation of access controls,ย 
    backups and recovery plans.
  • Support ongoing database operations to support application and customer activities
What You Will Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration or in a similar role
  • Experience in database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimizationย 
    and data security
  • Extensive knowledge with container orchestration technologies including Docker andย 
    Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, Postgres or MSSQL required
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide quick solutions to issues
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies
  • Strong knowledge of version control systems and hands-on experience with Git
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an on-call rotation
  • Additional database platform experience ( DB2, Oracle, etc.. )
  • Previous experience as a mentor or adviso
