Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate team.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and ongoing training.
  • Assist in hiring and onboarding new team members.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for daily production and special events.
Pastry & Bakery Production
  • Lead the daily production of desserts, pastries, artisan breads, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, and specialty baked goods.
  • Ensure all products meet company standards for taste, appearance, consistency, and freshness.
  • Prepare custom desserts and specialty items
  • Maintain production schedules
Menu Development
  • Develop seasonal desserts and specialty offerings.
  • Standardize recipes and production procedures to ensure consistency.
  • Test and refine recipes for quality and efficiency.
Wholesale Bakery Operations
  • Manage production for wholesale customers while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Ensure orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor inventory and communicate production needs to purchasing.
  • Maintain proper packaging and labeling procedures.
Inventory & Cost Control
  • Monitor ingredient inventory and submit purchasing requests.
  • Minimize food waste through proper planning and inventory rotation.
  • Help control food and labor costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all ingredients.
Qualification
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience in high-volume bakery production, catering, hotel, or fine dining preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cakes, pastries, artisan breads, laminated doughs, chocolates, and plated desserts.
  • Ability to manage multiple production schedules simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in recipe costing and production planning is preferred.
