Job Description
General Summary Of Duties:
Oversee all database marketing programs. Maintain customer lists and casino player files to enhance revenue. Develop effective direct mail programs (with advertising agency).
Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of database marketing initiatives that serve to attract new customers as well as maintain and retain existing customers.
  • Develops new direct marketing strategy.
  • Creates department budgets, forecasts and tracks department financials against programs.
  • Prepares proformas and postformas on all marketing programs.
  • Ability to work registration for casino special events and tournaments when needed.
  • Oversees all database marketing projects to ensure accuracy and integrity of all offers, customer lists and customer records. Evaluates and inputs all marketing customer list requests.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of database marketing efforts and makes recommendations.
  • Develops and executes effective prospect and retention marketing programs for the property.
  • Maintains current operating knowledge of necessary system functions to effectively coordinate database marketing projects.

Qualifications
Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
  • Works closely with related departments to manage and utilize the customer databases to consistently yield the most profitable mix of business.
  • Accurately tracks redemptions of all database marketing programs.
  • Write code, queries, and procedures to extract and communicate required information.
  • Identifies target market segments by demographic and/or psychographic characteristics.
  • Reviews and evaluates market research to use in anticipating direct marketing programs.
  • Communicates details of direct marketing programs to all internal and corporate operations, and other departments affected by promotional programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to the state and federal laws and the Gaming Control Board regulations.
  • Communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to staff. Assign and instruct all personnel in details of work. Observe performance and encourage improvement. Monitor workload and make staffing adjustments accordingly.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of management and employees in verbal/written form.
  • Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity, serving as a role model for other employees. Resolve complications and complaints by conducting thorough research of the situation and the most effective solutions. Make decisions and take action based on previous experience and judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.
  • Supervise staff including: selection, training, counseling & discipline.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision and multiple interruptions, exercise judgment and adapt instructions/directions from one assignment to another.
  • Ability to access and input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to listen and respond to guest, team member or management inquiries/concerns using a positive, clear speaking voice, answering questions and/or offering assistance giving accurate information regarding plans, policy or procedures.
  • Respond to guest inquiries. Provide guest satisfaction through assistance, direction and information within hotel guidelines.
  • Proficient knowledge of specific computer software, LMS, AS400, Super-Playmate, Pit Boss, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Access Database.
  • Experience in the casino analytics or database marketing field - preferably in direct mail marketing.
  • Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Additional Information
Experience Requirements
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
  • Five or more years related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Database software required including Microsoft Access.
  • Proficient in computers, including database applications, e-mails and Internet.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of player tracking and analysis system.
  • Must be able to meet with various outside agencies and vendors on a professional level.

Education Requirements
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
