Controller

Our Controllers are responsible for working cross functionally with multiple plant leaders to provide financial insights. As a  key member of the plant leadership team, this position is the focal point for financial planning and analysis, cost accounting and profit and loss statement control. This role assumes the responsibility of the integrity of financial reporting and internal controls, as well as provides guidance on operational and sales opportunities. Although a leadership role, this position is hands-on and has leadership and oversight responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Partner with VP, Sales Team and General Managers to maximize business value.
  • Support high-level plant needs for product margins, metrics, actual to budget.
  • Review and prepare financial statements for specific business Units.
  • Prepare budgets with team by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Provide support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information and providing support in the due diligence stage and post transaction.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Lead financial staff by driving professional and personal development opportunities to develop the next level of controllers.
  • Partner with HR on recruiting, selecting and coaching employees.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Drive process and continuous improvement efforts through innovation and creativity.
  • Develop and monitor business unit specific performance metrics

Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience within accounting and finance
  2. B.S. in Accounting or Finance

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Advanced degree or professional certification
  2. Manufacturing experience

Travel:

Local travel primarily during the day is expected for this role and will be less than 10%.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
