Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant - Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of accounting functions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage financial reporting, accounting processes, and support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience across multiple accounting disciplines, financial reporting standards, compliance procedures, and accounting systems. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial transparency and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Manage general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely transactions and policy compliance.
Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and applicable regulatory standards.
Conduct financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning initiatives.
Maintain internal controls and assist with audit procedures to safeguard organizational assets and improve operational efficiency.
Manage cash flow activities, including forecasting, bank reconciliations, and banking relationships.
Support payroll processing, compliance reporting, and accounting system administration.
Utilize accounting platforms such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar ERP/accounting systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, IFRS, double-entry bookkeeping, and regulatory compliance standards.
Experience with accounting and financial management software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or equivalent systems.
Proficiency in general ledger management, account reconciliation, financial analysis, and balance sheet reporting.
Ability to prepare accurate and detailed financial reports for leadership and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of internal controls, compliance procedures, and public accounting practices is highly preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities across departments.
