Accountant
Location: 560 Graniteville Road Graniteville, VT 05654
Position available: Immediately
Under the responsibility of the Finance Controller, the candidate will play a key role at Rock of Ages Corporation within the Polycor Group. We're looking for someone to perform accounting functions and transaction processing for this subsidiary. Polycor is an international company in which the candidate will be able to develop to their full potential with advancement opportunities into an Assistant Controller role.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Post payments to customer accounts.
  • Calculate adjusting entries related to inventory movements for multiple locations.
  • Review and post payroll entries.
  • Perform month-end close functions.
  • Monitor capital asset purchases and maintain fixed asset database.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist Controller in preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements.
  • Prepare various production and financial reports for management.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of all entries and prepared reports.
  • Compile financial data for our external audits.
  • Perform back-up accounting functions for other team members.

You must be detail oriented, precise, exercise good judgment and discernment, be thorough, respect confidentiality, and demonstrate strong organizational skills and responsibility.
