Job description

Cherry Bekaert is hiring a Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to become a key member of a lean, highimpact finance team. This role reports directly to senior finance leadership and serves as the #2 in accounting, playing a critical role in bringing core accounting work inhouse and strengthening reporting, controls, and systems.

If you're someone who enjoys owning the GL, building meaningful reports in Sage Intacct, and partnering closely with leadership, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact and grow into a future Controller role.


  • Act as the #2 in the accounting function, supporting senior finance leadership
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger with a high degree of accuracy
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Build and maintain Sage Intacct dashboards, reports, and custom reporting
  • Manage and reconcile transactions across multiple systems, including:
    • Vendor invoices
    • Credit card activity
    • Bank deposits
    • Intercompany transactions
  • Understand system integrations and troubleshoot data or connection issues
  • Handle invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections support
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements
  • Provide support and guidance to other team members as needed

MustHave
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong, handson Sage Intacct experience (required) - including dashboards, reporting, and customization
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
