Job description

Summary 

Responsible for the planning, and execution of logistics for events, conferences, and meetings from conception to completion for both internal and external customers. Manages sales and contract negotiations, food and beverage selections, room set-up and arrangements for audio visual service, etc. Provides event/meeting planning services and advise to clients, developing customer relationships and communication. Responsible for all project budgets from start to finish, including invoicing and processing of collected payments. Ensures clients needs are met through coordination with all service departments and continuously meets Parkview's standards of quality customer service. Effectively manages employees and guests at all levels during assigned events while maintaining excellent working relationships and communication. Works independently, but must be able to direct others while coordinating a wide variety of activities and logistics for multiple groups. Plans and executes large scale corporate events, grand opening events, ribbon cutting and ground breaking ceremonies for Parkview Health System. Manages sales and contract negotiations, organizes client meetings, budget management, menu design and selection, room set up requirements, décor selection, arrange security, arrangement of audio visual services and event timeline. Selects specific vendors; such as entertainment, catering companies, outside audio visual, décor rental and florals. Communicates, collaborates and negotiates with all vendors to ensure cohesive work.

Education 

Bachelors degree required.

Experience 

3 to 5 years experience in meeting planning or in hospitality industry. 

Other Qualifications

Excellent knowledge of event planning, meeting room space management, menu planning and banquet standards. Strong computer, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage employees in an event setting, guide guests and manage crowd control. Working knowledge of room set ups and safety requirements. Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
