Contract Event Production Technician/Event Manager

(Audio / Lighting / Stagehand, Event Management – Event-Based | 1099 Contractor)

We are seeking experienced Event Production Technicians to support church services and hosted events on an event-by-event contracted basis.

Events include memorials, weddings, church services, faith-based conferences, community gatherings, and outside rentals (faith-based and non-faith-based), including occasional outdoor events.

This is a 1099 independent contractor role scheduled as needed based on our event calendar.

Roles Needed

We are building a flexible production team and are currently hiring for:

Audio Technician

  • Live mixing for speech and live music

  • Microphone placement and system setup

  • Troubleshooting and signal flow management

Lighting Technician

  • Basic lighting programming and cue execution using a HOG Lighting console

  • Stage wash and event-appropriate lighting design

  • Operation during services and special events

Stagehand / Production Support

  • Load-in and load-out

  • Stage setup (podiums, backline, pipe & drape)

  • Cable management and equipment setup

Event Manager (Advanced Role)

  • Oversee technical setup and execution

  • Coordinate with pastors, families, wedding planners, musicians, and rental clients day of

  • Manage timelines and run-of-show

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and strike audio, lighting, staging, and basic video systems

  • Support projection and livestream needs when required

  • Maintain professionalism, especially during memorial services

  • Follow venue safety standards (fire safety, OSHA awareness, ADA considerations)

  • Keep production areas organized and event-ready


Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in live event or church production

  • Working knowledge of audio and/or lighting systems

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Availability for evenings and weekends

  • Strong communication and client-facing professionalism

Preferred:

  • Digital console experience

  • Lighting programming experience

  • Livestream or video production experience

  • Event coordination or stage management background
