ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

A well-established and highly respected commercial real estate organization is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its corporate accounting team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, leading teams, and preparing for the next step in their career.

This position offers a defined path to promotion into the Controller role within approximately 9–12 months, following a successful audit and reporting cycle. The organization is investing heavily in growth and modernization, creating significant opportunities to influence accounting operations while working alongside an experienced leadership team.

OVERVIEW OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER ROLE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA strongly preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-entity accounting, preferably managing 50+ entities.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Yardi is required.
  • Experience in commercial real estate, property management, construction, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
