Job description

We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing organization seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Assistant Controller to help lead accounting operations across multiple business units. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys owning the numbers, and wants visibility across an entire portfolio of companies. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in maintaining accurate financials, strengthening processes, and supporting leadership with timely, actionable insights.


What You’ll Do as an Assistant Controller:

  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across multiple entities
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Prepare and review financial statements for multiple companies
  • Oversee intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations
  • Drive balance sheet integrity through detailed account reconciliations and analysis
  • Support consolidations and multi-entity reporting
  • Partner closely with operations to understand plant-level performance and cost drivers
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and scalability
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (manufacturing experience highly preferred)
  • Experience working with multiple entities or business units

  • Proven ability to manage month-end close in a deadline-driven environment
