Job description


Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Controller for a construction company in Troy, MI. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team, and growth oriented company.
Requirements of the Controller
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Experience in construction accounting is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles, such as WIP reporting and job costing, is crucial.
  • Necessary skills encompass technical proficiency in accounting software and Excel, strong analytical abilities, effective communication, and proven leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities of the Controller
  • Oversee financial reporting and analysis, preparing statements like balance sheets and income statements.
  • Manage job costing systems to track project expenses and profitability, handle budgeting and forecasting, and monitor project performance against financial plans.
  • Manage company cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, as well as implementing internal controls and coordinating audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and financial regulations, lead accounting staff, contribute to strategic planning, and support project management with contract and insurance matters.
  • Manage commercial insurance programs and risk related to projects.
  • Supervise full time assistant.
