Summary:

The Business Segment Controller is a part of the Corporate Finance Division and will directly report to the Director of Accounting Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly and through identified accounting staff, directs the accounting activities for identified business segment(s).
  • Ensure that accounting controls are adequate and effective.
  • Responsible for ensuring that reconciliations are accurate, complete and in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Acts as collaborative business partner with identified business segment(s).
  • Strategically identify and implement opportunities to continuously improve controls and financial performance of the business segment(s).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task effectively, be a self-starter, deliver to deadlines, handle stress with composure and professionalism, and move work forward with limited direction
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and an understanding of the concept of materiality (i.e., knows when information is relevant)
  • Ability to collaborate and foster teamwork
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely, and demonstrate confidence and competence in group meeting situations
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software

Compensation Range:

$92000-$189000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
