Manufacturing | Plant & Operations Finance

Job Description

We are seeking a Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a stable, growing manufacturing organization. This Controller role is highly visible and hands-on, with direct involvement in plant operations, cost accounting, inventory, and pricing. The Senior Controller will manage the accounting team while serving as a key financial and operational partner to leadership.

This Controller opportunity is ideal for an experienced manufacturing finance leader who values long-term stability, continuous improvement, and a collaborative culture. The Controller will have the ability to make a meaningful impact on both financial reporting and day-to-day operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Controller responsible for all accounting functions in accordance with GAAP
  • As Controller, manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis
  • Ensure strong internal controls, policies, and procedures as the Controller
  • Lead cost accounting activities including standard costing and variance analysis
  • Partner with operations on cost control, pricing analysis, and margin improvement initiatives
  • Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliation, valuation, and physical counts
  • Provide financial insight to support operational efficiency and capital investment decisions
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team as the Senior Controller
  • Act as the Controller lead for the Epicor ERP system
  • Drive continuous process improvements across accounting, reporting, and plant finance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Prior Controller or Senior Controller experience strongly preferred
  • Strong background in cost accounting, inventory, and operations finance
  • ERP system experience required; Epicor preferred
  • Proven leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
