Controller
Location: Kalamazoo, MI
Salary: $85,000 – $100,000
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Work Setting: 100% onsite

We’re partnering with a long-standing manufacturing organization known for its stability and strong team tenure. This is a smaller group where employees genuinely support one another, creating a close, team-oriented atmosphere. The environment is hands-on and collaborative, ideal for someone who enjoys being actively involved in day-to-day operations. Attire is business casual, with jeans commonly worn.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Maintain and reconcile customer accounts within QuickBooks
  • Process incoming payments and invoices
  • Track outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts

Accounts Payable

  • Oversee weekly payment processing
  • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accuracy
  • Manage cash flow and maintain awareness of financial position

Payroll

  • Run biweekly payroll for both hourly and salaried staff
  • Work within ADP (partially automated)
  • Enter timekeeping data and applicable adjustments such as PTO and overtime

HR Support

  • Handle employee PTO tracking and requests
  • Assist with benefits coordination and communication with insurance providers
  • Provide general HR assistance alongside leadership

Qualifications

Required:

  • Background in a small business setting rather than strictly large corporate environments
  • Experience managing accounting functions independently (sole accounting role)
