Division Controller


Position Overview


Our client, an established manufacturing organization in the Grand Rapids area, is seeking an experienced Division Controller to lead accounting and financial planning for a key operating group. This is a highly visible role for a manufacturing finance professional who enjoys combining strong accounting ownership with financial analysis and business partnership.


The ideal candidate will have experience supporting manufacturing operations through financial reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision support.

What You'll Do

  • Own month-end close, financial reporting, and core controllership activities.
  • Provide leadership with analysis of financial performance, trends, and key business drivers.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with operations and commercial leaders.
  • Oversee manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory, standard costing, and material, labor, and overhead variances.
  • Analyze profitability, working capital, and cost performance to support business decisions.
  • Develop financial reporting tools, KPIs, and processes to improve visibility into performance.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Partner with finance and accounting leadership on reporting, planning, and special projects.


What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of accounting, finance, FP&A, or controllership experience.
  • Strong manufacturing accounting background, including cost accounting, inventory, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to partner with operations and business leaders and translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and proficiency with Excel, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
