Controller Opportunity Overview

A growing, multi-entity healthcare services organization is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function during a period of rapid expansion. Reporting to the CFO, this role oversees financial reporting, technical accounting, audit, and internal controls while supporting strategic growth initiatives across multiple business lines. This is a highly visible leadership position with both hands-on and strategic responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities for Controller
  • Lead monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Serve as the technical accounting lead, including revenue recognition, inventory, intercompany activity, and complex transactions
  • Oversee consolidation of multiple entities and business units
  • Manage external audit process, including preparation, coordination, and issue resolution
  • Review significant journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reserves
  • Support system implementations and ERP transitions, including data integrity and process design
  • Oversee cash, receivables, payables, and liquidity management
  • Partner with leadership across operations, finance, and IT to support business initiatives
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
  • Coordinate with external partners on tax compliance and regulatory requirements
Qualifications for Controller
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership within a multi-entity environment
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
  • Prior experience in healthcare services, specialty pharmacy, or similar environment preferred
  • Experience with ERP or financial systems implementations a plus
  • CPA or advanced degree preferred (not required)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
