Assistant Controller

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our growing Financial Operations practice.
As an Assistant Controller Consultant at Bridgepoint, you will be a valuable part of our client delivery team.

What You'll Do:
  • Build and maintain relationships with Current and prospective clients
  • Interact with BPC members in Financial Operations and other practice areas of the firm to coordinate excellent delivery
  • Assist with reconciliations, month end reporting, preparing clients for audit, cleaning up their books, and assisting their department with integration of merger and acquisition data
  • Interact directly with the client contact (CFO, Controller) and their staff
  • Provide project status updates, feedback, and thoughtful insights into client challenges for your delivery manager
  • Embrace flexibility and take on tasks and assignments that my be out of your comfort zone
Skills You'll Need:

Required:

  • 5-8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience
  • B.A. or B.S. required, Accounting or Finance degrees are a plus
  • Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service
  • Industry experience in start-ups, technology, software, oilfield services, insurance and Big Four/public accounting is highly preferred
  • Experience with monthly close procedures, monthly and quarterly financial reporting
  • Recent hands-on experience with routine accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains or Intacct), along with moderate to advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to adapt to various client environments, and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
  • Demonstration of a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, experience researching technical GAAP issues
  • Past experience working in small to mid-sized company environment with the ability to multi-task and wear several hats

Preferred:

  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Prior employment by a Big Four or other nationally recognized accounting firms
  • Industry experience in emerging growth, technology, and SaaS companies
  • Revenue Recognitions highly preferred
