The Associate Director of Advancement Services oversees the day-to-day operations of the Advancement Services Team to support the Office of Academy Resources (OAR) fundraising, relationship building, and engagement activities. Partners with campus wide departments to ensure the integration and sharing of data. The Associate Director leads efforts for ensuring accurate and comprehensive information on constituents, manages the importing of data from satellite systems for data updates, and identifies and implements strategies and exception reports to increase accuracy of data/data integrity. Participates in the creation and implementation of department policies and procedures, and serves on a working group for the CRM database. This position has one direct report.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Advancement Services team
  • Identify and implement technical strategies and exception reports to increase accuracy of data/data integrity (create SQL/SSRS exception reports, suggest integrations/data feeds)
  • Manage the importing/exporting of data from satellite systems for data updates
  • Keep abreast of new functionality and troubleshoot problems

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of three years’ database management experience
  • Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or Agilon experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Outlook, Teams) and other computer programs preferred
  • Experience with SQL or similar programming languages preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising preferred, preferably in an educational environment

The ideal candidate must have the following skills:

  • Strong database management skills and commitment to customer service
  • Understanding of data governance and strong understanding of proven Advancement best-practices
  • A strong grasp of the role of technology plays in this position with the capacity to identify opportunities for improved data quality, reduced data entry, and increased cross-departmental collaboration
  • Excellent organizational, communication skills (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills (with all constituents and colleagues) as well as complete discretion with confidential information
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team
