Summary of Position

Responsible for the holistic achievement of all transient B to B segments to include negotiated corporate, leisure, consortia. Key industries include Entertainment, sports, finance, private equity, fashion, retail. Supports transient sales team handling leisure agencies, consortia (corporate and leisure), global and local corporate business. Personally handles global corporate accounts (excluding entertainment & fashion)


Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Achieves revenue goals as part of negotiated corporate market segment, and consortia (leisure and corporate)
  2. Completed account action plans for global accounts and executes (excluding entertainment and fashion)
  3. Sets goals for all global accounts manages production of all with team
  4. Secures marketing for corporate consortia
  5. Is the property expert on Lanyon and ensures RFP season runs smoothly
  6. Is property expert on A360 sharing data with DOSM, DORM and transient team monthly
  7. Supports leisure and residential sales being present for key fams and client entertaining
  8. Supports local BTSM ensuring outside calls and on property events/entertaining are executed
  9. Leads reporting on channels understanding agency contribution to all segments
  10. Builds long-term, value-based relationships with all key transient accounts
  11. Works closely with DOS in London on global account management
  12. Reviews guest arrival list daily to identify new leads; assigns accordingly
  13. Work in conjunction with other departments within the hotel to ensure smooth handling of business travellers’ needs and requirements.
  14. Negotiate competitive deals offering value to the customer while maintaining profitability to the Maybourne Group.
  15. Conduct site inspections and engage in proactive sales efforts.
  16. Must have exceptional attention to detail and follow up skills to create client loyalty and confidence.
  17. Monitor actual sales and revenues to determine variance and assess goal accomplishments and adjust strategies accordingly.
  18. Recommends marketing promotions to drive client education and incentives to drive additional revenues
  19. Orchestrate quarterly and annual account reviews and market action plans and collaborate with other Directors and Managers to drive production.
  20. Able to work independently and makes decisions based on established policies and procedures while sticking to budget.
  21. Must have entrepreneurial mindset and be able to take initiative to capture business and maximize profits for the hotel.
  22. Actively research B2B opportunities in driving revenue, brand awareness and total account management.
  23. Provide feedback to Director of Sales and Marketing and Senior Leadership Team in regard to market conditions, forecasts, and recommendations.
  24. Prepare regular reports and updates for the hotel management on sales performance and market trends.
  25. Providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues or concerns raised by business travellers.
  26. Demonstrate commitment to The Maybourne brand and core values.
  27. Possess adequate revenue knowledge including rate loading, rate maximization, revenue strategy and reporting.
  28. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
  29. Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members; ensures recognition is taking place across areas of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum 4 years luxury hotel experience in a transient sales role
  2. Previous Five Star/Luxury Hotel Sales Experience a plus
  3. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  4. Knowledge of global account business travel practices including contractual agreements and legal implications a plus
  5. Ability to use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
  6. Possesses leadership skills and able to motivate a team
  7. Creates an atmosphere in which timely information flows smoothly throughout the department; possesses exceptional communications skills.
  8. Ability to manage time efficiently
  9. Understands our competition and knows how to sell against them.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook systems; PMS system knowledge; i.e., Opera a plus
  11. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in dynamic and fast-changing environment.
  12. Must be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of walking around and standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
