Press Manager

To accomplish this, we need an experienced, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual to lead our press department.

This role requires hands-on leadership to support our team leads, trainers, and operators as they operate specialized web and sheetfed printing presses. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, problem-solving, leadership, and people skills with a strong attention to detail.

Key Tasks:

• Drive and support change for continuous improvement, productivity, and waste management.
• Actively promote a culture of safety within Japs-Olson Company.
• Follow and enhance organizational lean management systems.
• Ensure the highest level of quality on each production job.
• Optimize productivity while improving safety and quality metrics.
• Create and maintain relationships with company vendors and partners.
• Research and recommend equipment and/or software purchases.
• Negotiate service fees and pricing with outside vendors.
• Ensure supplies, tools, work instructions and equipment are available for team members.
• Monitor and maintain department target staffing levels.
• Participate in the recruitment process through onsite interviews.
• Established courses of action for self and/or others to accomplish specific goals.
• Be engaged and committed to employee development through the department’s training program and progression path process.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of successful leadership of a large-scale commercial press department.
• Previous experience with full web presses with inline finishing.
• Previous experience with high speed sheetfed presses.
• Knowledge of statistical tools, continuous improvement concepts, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in team environments.
• Strong attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization.

*Stay-On Bonus amount is based on experience. Paid out in three installments at 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months of employment at Japs-Olson.
