Data-Mail is one of the nationโ€™s largest full-service direct mail lettershop production facilities. We are a financially strong, family-owned, and operated company that was established in 1971. Data-Mail employs over 800 full-time staff at our two locations, encompassing over 500,000 square feet of production space in the Hartford, CT area. Annually, Data-Mail produces and mails over 1.5 billion pieces of direct mail.

SUMMARY

Operate inserter to sort and prepare mail in accordance with United States Postal Services regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read the recap thoroughly and check job for accuracy, reporting any error or discrepancy to the supervisor immediately. Verify all material for completeness.
  • Learn to operate inserting equipment (different models), including basic adjustments needed to keep the machine running (i.e. fix jams, restart etc.).
  • Sort the job per instructions. Follow all MICR procedures when running MICR jobs. Feed material into the machine making sure material does not jam or slow down production. Test with the preset double, as required. Ensure there is sufficient material at machine so there is no work stoppage.
  • Ensure quality is maintained throughout the job. Perform quality checks as required for job/client and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Follow USPS sorting regulations for creating bundles/trays/pallets. Bundle mail when necessary using the tying machine or rubber bands and put the correct tray/bundle tags on the completed mail.
  • Maintain production standards.
  • Keep the work area neat and clean.
  • Work in a Safe manner, following all company guidelines, and report any unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor or manager.
  • Comply with company rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
  • Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve the operating efficiency of the department.
