Job Overview
The Sorting Clerk performs clerical tasks that require familiarity with the terminology, processes, and functions of the office unit. Work involves selecting appropriate methods from a broad range of procedures and making simple adaptations or interpretations of a limited number of substantive guides and manuals. Clerical steps may vary depending on the task, and recognized problems are referred to higher-level staff for resolution.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Perform clerical sorting tasks requiring familiarity with office terminology and workflow.
  • Select appropriate procedural methods from a wide variety of options based on the task at hand.
  • Make simple adaptations and interpretations of established guides, manuals, and procedures.
  • Execute clerical steps that may vary in type or sequence depending on workload or assignment.

  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when organizing, sorting, or processing materials.
