Senior Accountant (Manufacturing exp. req.) Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Senior Accountant to add to their team in Ennis, TX. You will bring your full understanding of accounting principles to help manage daily accounting operations and help guide strategic financial decisions. If you like to be involved in the full accounting and finance process, this is a perfect opportunity for you. Beyond that, if you have a proactive mindset and the initiative to not only identify opportunities for improvement, but act on them as well, then you will shine. This is a great opportunity to join a smaller accounting/finance team with a manager who gladly supports the growth and development of their team members.

Senior Accountant (Manufacturing exp. req.) Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate financial records
• Support monthly accounting close process
• Manage inventory; reduce slow-moving stock and support cycle counts
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Analyze variances and recommend actions to improve profitability
• Calculate, review, and process journal entries
• Ensure general ledger is complete, accurate, and closed in a timely manner
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets to the general ledger of the company
• Review and approve costing of materials
• Manage daily cash
• Support and/or participate in special projects
• Work closely with the finance team
• Ensure standardized monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed
• Prepare tax returns, submissions, exemptions and related certificates and reconciliations

Senior Accountant (Manufacturing exp. req.) Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 5+ years accounting experience required
• Manufacturing industry experience required
• Month-end closing experience required
• Advanced Excel (Macro & Pivot Table creation) experience required
• ERP experience required
• Must be willing to work in-office Monday through Friday
