Position: Corporate and Foundations Relations Coordinator
Location: Hybrid
Reporting to: Vice President of Development
Job Status: Temporary part-time position (20-hour per week) through December 2024. The position needs will be evaluated for an extension for 2025.
Job summary: The Corporate and Foundations Relations Coordinator works closely with the Vice President of Development, staff, board, and volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate and foundation grant funders. This is an exciting new opportunity for a part-time, detail-oriented, self-motivated grant writer and believes in the mission of Friends of Acadia (FOA).
Responsibilities:
- Study and understand the history, goals, programs, and financial needs of FOA.
- Research grant opportunities from corporations and foundations with an interest in Acadia, national parks, conservation, and other related areas.
- Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the granting organization and grant RFPs (Request for Proposals).
- Submit proposals for review and approval.
- Respond to internal and external questions on proposals and supporting documentation.
- Maintain positive relationships with fund providers, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
- Provide as needed stewardship materials and grant reports as required, requested, or needed.
Required Qualifications:
- BA or BS in communications, marketing, or related degree.
- Two - three years of relevant grant writing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive, strategic, and non-partisan working relationships with FOA members, donors, community leaders, colleagues, funders, and others.
- Proven written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and fundraising research tools.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software preferred.

Work Environment: The position is a hybrid position with some in-office and some remote work. Evening, weekend, some overnight work, as well as travel, may be required.
