Job Description

The Finance team is seeking an experienced Finance Director who will be responsible for processing all incoming donations and assisting with higher level accounting duties such as financial statement preparation, departmental reporting, database management, budget and audit preparation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Entering donations received from outside constituents ensuring that they are processed correctly and timely.
Answering questions from donors regarding their donations and sending them additional information if needed.
Work closely with the Philanthropy team on any coding questions and submitting reclassifying entries if needed.
Process all donor acknowledgement letters and work closely with the Executive Assistant on the processing of large gifts.
Properly acknowledge all tribute gifts in a timely manner.
Prepare daily check deposit.
Prepare weekly cash deposit.
Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and review for accuracy.
Assist with preparation of requested reporting for department managers, Vice Presidents and CEO.
Assist with review of database constituent reports as well as accuracy of mailing lists.
Assist with preparation of audit schedules for the annual financial statement audit and governmental 990 filings.

Qualifications:

College degree in Accounting or Finance preferred as well as 5 years experience in an accounting environment.
Database experience is required with previous use of Blackbaud products (Raisers Edge) a plus.
Ability to use moderate levels of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel and Word.
Excellent customer service skills.
