Position Summary
Vertiv is seeking a strategic Workforce Development Manager to build sustainable talent ecosystems for our Field Services organization. This role bridges industry, education, and community to develop robust career pathways that address current and future workforce needs. The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker and a connector-championing workforce readiness, fostering equitable access to skilled trades careers, and strengthening regional talent infrastructure to support our growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Workforce Development
  • Collaborate with Services leadership to assess workforce gaps and design multi-year talent development strategies aligned with organizational growth and regional labor market trends.
  • Build comprehensive workforce pipelines through partnerships with community colleges, trade schools, and workforce boards in targeted communities.
  • Establish key performance indicators for workforce readiness and pipeline health; leverage labor market data and program analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver quarterly briefings to leadership on workforce trends, pipeline metrics, and strategic recommendations.

Training Program Leadership
  • Direct Vertiv's technical training programs (e.g., Thermal FST via ADTC), ensuring alignment between industry standards, competency-based curriculum, and learner support services.
  • Track and optimize learner outcomes including completion rates, credential attainment, job placement, retention, and career advancement.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to enhance program accessibility, inclusion, and participant success.

Community & Educational Partnership Development
  • Develop and steward strategic relationships with educational institutions, workforce development agencies, and community organizations (e.g., NOVA, TSTC, local workforce boards).
  • Serve as primary liaison for partnership agreements, work-based learning initiatives, apprenticeships, scholarships, and community investments.
  • Position Vertiv's Field Services as an employer of choice and industry leader in workforce development within target communities.

Internal Mobility & Career Advancement
  • Support leadership development programs, including frontline supervisor training, to build organizational capacity for talent development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and career progression across the Services organization.

Budget & Strategic Resource Management
  • Develop, manage, and optimize budgets for workforce development programs and community partnerships.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure strategic, cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning to ensure competitive positioning and readiness for evolving market demands.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Workforce Development, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in workforce development, talent pipeline management, or apprenticeship/career pathway programs.
  • Demonstrated success building education-industry partnerships and managing multi-stakeholder initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of skilled trades workforce challenges and solutions; experience with technical recruitment or apprenticeship programs highly valued.
  • Project management, budget management, and community engagement experience preferred.
