Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital providing comprehensive small animal care, seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to join their team on a full-time basis.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role blends clinical practice with leadership, offering the opportunity to shape medical standards while maintaining hands-on involvement in patient care. You will lead the medical team, mentor and develop veterinarians and support staff, and collaborate closely with hospital leadership on operations, growth, and culture. Clinical responsibilities include performing diagnostics, developing treatment plans, delivering preventative care, and carrying out surgical and dental procedures. You will play a key role in fostering a positive and sustainable work environment while ensuring high standards of care and client service. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian, including those stepping into leadership or experienced Medical Directors seeking a collaborative setting.
Practice Details
This is a long-standing, community-rooted practice with a strong reputation for delivering consistent, high-quality care while maintaining meaningful client relationships. The hospital offers a full suite of services including wellness exams, vaccinations, puppy and kitten care, senior care, dental care, radiology, surgery, emergency care during business hours, pain management, behavioral medicine, nutritional counseling, and parasite prevention. The practice also provides boarding and grooming services, along with separate dog and cat entrances to enhance patient comfort. The culture emphasizes collaboration, compassion, and practical, relationship-based medicine, with opportunities to influence clinical and operational direction. Hospital hours are Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM, Saturday from 7 AM to 12 noon, and closed on Sunday.
Team
The team consists of 7 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and mentoring-focused environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
