Job description

A Surgery Manager opportunity is available in Overland Park, KS at a 150+ bed acute care hospital offering a Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence, certified Breast Center of Excellence, and a dedicated Genitourinary Cancer clinic — the only one of its kind in the region.

The role. Reporting within surgical services leadership, this manager oversees the daily operations of the Operating Room, including schedule management, staffing, productivity monitoring, and premium labor utilization. The position is responsible for maintaining surgical schedule flow through appropriate allocation of staff, equipment, and supplies, while also holding the team accountable for quality outcomes and adherence to AORN guidelines, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards. The manager analyzes and reports peri-operative statistical data, leads supply management and process improvement initiatives, and serves as a surgical liaison providing communication and support to patients and their families. This role also involves direct procedural support to physicians in the OR, including case setup and maintaining sterility, traffic flow, and accurate surgical counts.

What we're looking for.

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required, BSN preferred
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • 3+ years of recent surgery experience in a hospital setting, general surgery required
  • 3+ years of recent leadership Charge RN or OR Manager experience; strong robotics/orthopedics experience preferred

Schedule. Full time, days, no weekends; on-call as needed.

Compensation. $44.27 - $61.99/hr plus Relocation: Case by Case Basis
