GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Focused on managing high level activities in a complex and fast-paced environment, the Development Coordinator is supervised by the Assistant Vice President and provides administrative and project support to the Associate Vice President, Assistant Vice President and 3-4 front-line fundraisers as part of a larger major gifts team. S/he will work independently and collaboratively on special projects and ongoing strategy to grow the major gifts program.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Coordinating and actively participating in various projects such as event planning, mailings and discovery calls.

* Scheduling meetings/appointments and updating calendar

* Updating information in fundraising database

* Preparing memos, letters and other correspondence.

* Word processing, proofreading and editing materials as required

* Fielding routine phone calls and taking accurate message

* Initiating and responding to routine correspondence

* Preparing biographies, briefings and agendas for meeting

* Organizing and maintaining files, both paper and electronic

* Preparing check requests, purchase orders, and submitting bills for payment.

* Performing qualification calls as needed

* Performing the "hospital run" for the Development Office as needed

* Covering the Development Office reception desk as needed

* Occasional night and weekend hours supporting development activitie

* Other duties as required

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* One years of development experience or related experience preferred

* Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong proofreading ability

* Superb organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail

* Excellent computer literacy using Microsoft Office

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously under pressure of multiple and sequential deadline
