We are a leading behavioral health hospital providing comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services. Our continuum of care includes inpatient and outpatient programs focused on dual diagnosis, stabilization, and long-term recovery.

We are growing and seeking a dynamic Director of Business Development to lead strategic outreach and drive admissions through strong community partnerships.

Position Summary

The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing and executing marketing and outreach strategies that drive patient referrals and admissions. This role will report directly to the CEO and play a key leadership role in expanding the organization’s presence in the behavioral health and SUD treatment space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development and marketing plan to meet census and revenue goals

  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with: Hospitals and emergency department, Physicians and mental health providers, Substance use treatment programs, Social services, legal/judicial partners, and community organizations

  • Identify new referral sources and partnership opportunities in the community

  • Lead outreach initiatives, including networking events, tours, and educational programs

  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic growth initiatives

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and operations to align growth strategies

  • Ensure all outreach efforts align with regulatory guidelines and ethical standards

  • Track referral development activity and maintain CRM/reporting metrics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, healthcare marketing, or behavioral health/SUD programs

  • Proven success in driving admissions and building referral pipelines

  • Strong knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services

  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet growth targets
