WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead business development and relationship management activities, establish performance expectations, and maintain pipeline, calling, referral, and relationship management reporting to support disciplined growth.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective business development, relationship management, and market growth strategies that enhance Golden 1’s Business Services position and support budgeted goals for business deposits, lending, treasury‑oriented services, member growth, and relationship deepening.
  • Recruit, coach, manage, and develop Business Relationship Officers and related sales resources who can meet or exceed individual and team goals for business deposits, business loans, referrals, member acquisition, and other Business Services products while working within the Credit Union’s brand, culture, risk appetite, and service standards.
  • Partner with Business Services leadership to evaluate market opportunities, prioritize future growth initiatives, and help implement the roadmap for expanded business banking capabilities, including products and services that support members from micro‑businesses through more complex commercial banking relationships and potential future owner‑occupied commercial real estate needs.
  • Build scalable sales practices, relationship management disciplines, coaching routines, referral processes, and performance reporting to support the current team and position the role for expanded leadership responsibilities as Business Services grows.
  • Working knowledge of investor and owner‑occupied commercial real estate lending, and partner with CRE leadership, credit, portfolio management, and operations to identify relationship opportunities, support member needs, and ensure appropriate coordination without direct management responsibility for the CRE team.
  • Collaboratively support business lending operations to ensure the organization identifies and minimizes all types and levels of risk, through adherence to applicable policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment for each team member by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, inspiring others through your words and actions, ensuring positive employee morale throughout Golden 1, and embracing our mission, vision, and core values.
  • Analyze, determine, and communicate staffing, territory, market coverage, and resource needs required to support current production goals and future Business Services growth.
  • Monitor and comply with all established security, internal audit, State and Federal policies and regulations. Assist in developing, initiating, and driving approved campaigns that are within the origination and marketing plan for the credit union.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including BSA, AML, TILA, HMDA, GLBA, Fair Lending, and others that are appropriate to the position.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve member, branch, digital, and relationship management concerns related to Business Services production, onboarding, account management, and overall member experience.
  • Act as a Role Model for the Golden Commitments to Leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERENCES
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of progressive business banking, commercial banking, relationship management, and/or business development leadership experience required, including demonstrated experience managing or building sales and relationship management teams required
  • Experience serving business clients across varying levels of complexity, from micro‑business and small business relationships through more sophisticated commercial banking relationships, is required. Commercial real estate experience, including familiarity with owner‑occupied commercial real estate, is required
