Job description

About OS National

OS National is a national escrow and title insurance agency wholly owned by Opendoor Technologies (NASDAQ: OPEN). We provide title insurance, escrow, and settlement services for purchase and refinance transactions across a growing number of states. OSN is in a period of significant growth, expanding our customer base and operational footprint as we scale toward becoming one of the largest independent title and escrow agencies in the country.

The Role

OS National is at an inflection point — scaling toward becoming one of the largest independent title agencies in the country, and we need the leader who gets us there. The Sr Director of Business Development will own how OS National grows: building relationships across the mortgage and real estate ecosystem, converting them into long‑term partnerships, and assembling the team and infrastructure to sustain that growth. This is a ground‑floor leadership opportunity with the resources of a publicly traded company and the urgency of a business that is moving fast.

What You’ll Do Business Development
  • Develop and execute a go‑to‑market strategy to acquire new customers across the real estate and mortgage ecosystem.
  • Build pipeline, qualify opportunities, and close relationships that align with OSN’s operational capabilities and growth targets.
  • Identify strategic partnerships and channel opportunities that accelerate customer acquisition at scale.
Account Management & Client Retention
  • Own relationships with OSN’s customers and serve as the senior point of contact for sales.
  • Build structured account plans that identify growth opportunities within existing relationships and protect against attrition.
  • Establish customer success rhythms — QBRs, executive touchpoints, issue escalation protocols — that make OSN a preferred partner.
  • Partner with Operations and Technology to ensure the customer experience is seamless and differentiated.
Team Building & Leadership
  • Design the organizational structure for a scalable client development function – including account management, business development, and customer success.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high‑performing team. You will start with a small group and have the mandate and budget to build.
  • Establish performance metrics, compensation structures, and reporting cadences that drive accountability and results.
  • Create the playbooks and processes that allow the team to scale without losing the service quality that differentiates OSN.
Strategy & Cross‑Functional Partnership
  • Serve as a key member of OSN’s senior leadership team, contributing to company‑wide strategy and planning.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, COO, and operations leaders on capacity planning, pricing, and market expansion.
  • Provide market intelligence on competitive dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends to inform product and service development.
Qualifications Required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in sales, business development, or client management within the title insurance, mortgage, or real estate industry.
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing customer relationships across multiple channels in the real estate or mortgage services space.
  • Proven track record of both customer retention and increasing wallet and market share.
  • Comfort carrying and owning commercial targets — including new logo quotas, retention rates, and revenue growth metrics.
  • Experience building and scaling a sales or account management team.
  • Deep understanding of the mortgage origination lifecycle and how title, escrow, and settlement services fit into real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with RESPA, state title insurance regulations, and the compliance landscape governing title and settlement services.
  • Executive presence and credibility to engage senior leaders at client organizations.
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools to achieve goals and create efficiencies in workflows.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Miami, Dallas or Atlanta preferred; open to other locations for exceptional candidates. Travel required (approximately 40–50%).
Preferred
  • Experience at a large national title agency, title insurance underwriter, mortgage lender, or settlement services platform.
  • Existing relationships with decision‑makers in the title and mortgage industries.
  • Comfort operating in a high‑growth environment where structure is being built alongside execution.
